The first meeting of the Lower Macungie Township (LMT) Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) was held on Monday May 11th at the Township Building on Brookside Road.  The purpose of the council is to advise Township officials regarding issues dealing with protection, conservation, management, promotion, acquisition and use of natural resources including air, land, water and open space resources within and affecting LMT.  Volunteers appointed by the LMT Board of Commissioners, this inaugural class of EAC members is chaired by Brian Evans.  Mr. Evans, an environmental professional by trade, brings a strong background to the council.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the Township to actively engage residents in projects that will maintain and improve the beauty of our community" says Vice Chairman, Patrick Slattery.  Council members also include Scott Alderfer, Dana Bacher, John Costlow, Chris McGrath and a soon to be named member of the Planning Commission.
