Sustainable Energy Conference at Lafayette College
July 30 - 31, 2009
I had the privilege to attend the Sustainable Energy Conference at Lafayette College on July 30th and 31st. A week long event orchestrated by the non-profit Sustainable Energy Fund, the conference included seminars on a myriad of renewable energy sources such as geo thermal, wind, solar thermal and biomass. The conference also explained many residential, commercial and municipal incentives to implement renewable energy sources in homes, businesses and communities across the Commonwealth. Thank you to John Costlow and Jennifer Hopkins at the Sustainable Energy Fund for pulling together an excellent event (www.TheSEF.org).

Patrick receives a demonstration of an innovative solar application called the “Power Flower” by Jason Halpern, CEO of Power Flower Solar.

Patrick has a chat with Brent Alderfer, Executive Vice President of Community Energy, Inc after his presentation on community wind technology.

Patrick talks with David Newell of EarthNet Energy about their highly efficient and durable ENE-24 Evacuated Tube Solar Collector System (www.earthnetenergy.net)

Pennsylvania Utility Commission Chairman, James Cawley gives a talk on energy and specifically addresses the pending PPL rate hike of 30-50%.
